My name is Katerina and I hold a First-Class degree (2017) in German literature and language from the University of Oxford. I had a fantastic time studying for 4 years, especially enjoying the compulsory third year abroad, which I spent in Berlin.
I was a student of German literature and philosophy at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. During one of the academic holidays, I also worked on a 2-month production of German novelist Alfred Döblin’s seminal work ‘Berlin Alexanderplatz’ at the renowned Deutsches Theater as an assistant to the director.
I have been tutoring German literature and language at GCSE, A-Level and university level (& Oxbridge university entrance) alongside full-time work since I graduated in 2017. I am passionate about teaching and sharing my knowledge with pupils of all ages and at all stages of their academic journey. I love to share my acquired knowledge and my passion for everything German: from literature and film through to the culture and food!

Within language, I am especially interested in grammar, linguistics and dialectology. In addition to German, Italian and French, I have always loved experimenting with all kinds of other languages, including Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese, Hungarian and Danish!
Previously, I have taught English and German to students in Italy and I have advised Oxbridge applicants and guided them through the entry process.
What I love most about teaching is the chance to share the joy of languages with as many people as possible and to learn new things myself. Learning languages really gives you unlimited options in life and the ability to interact directly with the beautiful cultures of our world.”
